Four Years Later
Well Hello!! The last post was in 2012!! It's been way too long and so much has happened.
I think I might change the blog name to Letters to my Daughter's... There's you and your sister, Emma now. I'm glad you now get to have that awesome connection with a sister. I love my sister deeply and I'm hoping you and Emma become the best of friends one day.
Emma is three years old and so very sassy and spunky. She brings out the best and the worst in us.
She's super smart, but of course she gets it from you. Right now, it's a crazy little relationship you have going on because she's so bossy and wants you to do things her way. Summer is here and you get to spend almost every waking minute with her which I think is great because you both get to bond together.
You're going to the fifth grade now and you're now in full English classes. You passed the Bilingual test in the beginning of fourth grade and you've been improving and just getting better since then. You and your sister love to go to the library and read but that's no surprise. If there was one thing I was going to pass along to you both it was the love of reading. It's the most magical thing you can do and no matter what, no one take reading away from you. Reading is power, reading is knowledge and I'm glad you both have the same love of books that I had when I was little girl. This summer, we've taken many trips to our local library and you both have read and heard tons of books already.
Summer 2016 hasn't been a big vacation summer but we've tried to do the most of it and I think you both have enjoyed yourselves very much. We have been able to go to the community pool, Pirate's Bay, to the library, bowling, taken a trip to Dallas to see Legoland and the Grapevine Sea Life Aquarium and the Dallas Zoo as well. We've stayed up late and watched movies and painted canvases. It's been a good summer.
I enjoy being with you both very much, I guess I never knew how much you could both change my life but it's been for the better and I can't see my life without either of you. I hope God gives me a thousand years to be by your side.
Let's see I guess since this is about getting to know more about me, so I suppose I can write about me..I'm sure you both already know that I love to read... I could do it everyday. I'm sure if I really set my mind to it, I could read a book a day. Of course, I would not be able to get anything done. I also enjoy painting very much. I have my own paints and canvases and an easel and when I get stressed or mad, I just get to painting and it takes everything away. I found my love for panting again when I was invited to your aunt GeeGee's birthday party. Ever since then I've been doing it more often and I enjoy it very much. I was also finally able to set up my vanity, a place where I could store all my makeup brushes and my palettes and have my own time to enjoy doing my make up. Seriously though, I haven't had time to do it as often as I would like. I'm usually running around you or your sister, especially your sister so it's kind of hard to take time for myself. Although, I could say it's getting some use since Emma loves to sit there and talk to herself! I've been wanting to learn how to do calligraphy or even hand lettering... I even bought myself a small sketch book but who knows when I'll get to that. I've pinned a few calligraphy ideas and I'm sure I'll get to practicing soon.
About a year ago, I gave my two weeks notice at a job that I had been at for years. I took a leap of faith and followed my friend Veronica. It's been the best thing I could of ever done. I have learned to cook and bake so many things and I've finally learned to crochet!!! I never thought I could do it and here I am crocheting a blanket (which has taken me FOREVER and I have yet to complete it!!) and I've crocheted some kitchen towels. Im much more at peace at this job and my boss is one of the most wonderful people I've met. We've been truly blessed with this job and I can't thank the Lord above enough. I promise to try and keep up with this blog a lot more often and to write to you as much as I can. I want to leave you both something behind when I'm gone that you can look back at and know that I loved you with more than anything.
